Cooking Academy App Review - Cooking Game

Price : Free (to unlock full version, it costs $1.99)

Compatibility : If your iDevice runs iOS 4.2 and above,  you are able to play this game. Also compatible with the iPad.

First Impression
My younger cousin was playing Cooking Mama recently and wanted to get another game similar to it. I searched “Cooking” and the first result was this game. I went through the screenshots and felt that this game is child-friendly. Unlike Cooking Mama, this game is free to try. To get the full version, it costs $1.99. So, I decided to give it a try.

Details of the Game
In this game, you are a culinary arts student learning to cook various dishes and delicacies. You will first be guided by a headmistress named Carmen Paccio who will show you how to cook, the iPad way. You start off learning how to prepare appetizers and later on in the game, you will have to prepare much more complicated dishes which consist of lunch and dinner. You are able to take culinary exams too.

Pros
1.       This game is suitable for kids as it is easy and does not contain any explicit content.
2.       This game is free to try, so, before purchasing the full version of the game, you can have a look on how this game works.
3.       Multiple people can play on the same iPad/iPhone. Different users can be created within the game.

Cons
1.       Limited recipes for the free version. Only 10 recipes are available which are relatively easy compared to the other recipes which are not free.
2.       Repetitive gameplay. You do (more or less) the same activities for each recipe over and over again.
3.       Nothing significant from Cooking Mama. Aside from different types of food prepared, there isn’t really any difference from the much more famous Cooking Mama.

My Rating : 3/5

  1. All these are great! I love the pink and yellowish blossoms. In my school art course we used the petroleum pastels to be blurred by baby oil, good to know oil also works! Thanks:) cooking games
